BEYOND THE SKIES

Beyond the Skies was inspired by two things, the first was a song I used to love growing up. One of the main phrases in this song is, "the sky is the limit." As I came into a personal relationship with God, I realized that the sky was not the limit. 1 Corinthians 2:9 declares that "eyes have not seen, nor have ears heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for them that love him." I would start saying to myself, the sky is not the limit and I’m going beyond the skies!

The song was birthed after I met a woman who was homeless and had come to the city of Tallahassee to be near her daughter who had been incarcerated. Her conviction was that her daughter was innocent and she was going to spend the rest of her life trying to get her daughter free from prison. She had a dream of seeing her daughter set free and wherever they moved her child, she would follow close behind. Beyond the skies is about pursuing our deepest dreams no matter how crazy others may perceive us or how high the obstacles standing in our way appear to be.
